A Clearance Sale and A Giveaway

This is part of the big pile of bags, purses, hats and garments on my (carpeted-and-used-as-a-playroom) garage floor.  This week, they'll be priced (mostly under $20) and hung up, ready for the

BIG CLEARANCE SALE

 I'm having this Saturday.

Saturday 23rd March

10.30am - 3.30pm

Production samples, display and teaching samples... and excess samples.... I have too many samples.
ALL TO CLEAR.  All going for an absolute song.

I'll also have a few things like a box of vintage tablecloths, some feather boas, discontinued bag hardware and patterns.... odds and ends.  I need to make some space.

Please note: The showroom/shop won't be open on Saturday (I can't manage both) but if you want to put in an order for bag supplies and pick it up on the day, contact the office during the week and we can get it ready for you.

And I'm sorry - I barely have time to price and hang up the samples, so the sale will not be listed online anywhere.  You really need to just come in or send a personal shopper.

-----------------------------

And now - the Giveaway....

As I mentioned earlier, my book YOU SEW GIRL had a few hiccups with distribution, but it's finally available in the USA via Book Depository.

Project-wise, there's a little bit of everything in this book, and a whole heap of sewing tips and techniques to make you a faster, better, more confident sewing whizz...

You can read what the editors at PatternReview.com had to say about it here...

And here are a few more pictures from the book, all by the very talented Denise Nestor.

To celebrate the availability of the book in the USA, I'm going to give a copy of the book away to someone in the USA or Canada.  If you live there, you could be a winner!

To be in the draw, you need to follow the blog (there's a widget on the sidebar) and leave a comment in the comment box below (with an email address if you don't have a Blogger profile with an email address attached).

OR, follow me on Facebook and leave a comment in the post that links to this blog post. If you post on the Facebook page, there's no need to leave an email address.  I can contact you there through a private message.

I'll gather up all the names, draw a winner on Friday 29th March and order the book to be sent directly to you.

And now I have to go off and think of something nice for those of you who don't live in Melbourne or the USA....

Because every girl needs a polystyrene 70's disco TV....

... and some fake grass...
...a Bollywood parasol, several polystyrene cats...
Oh, and you might as well throw in some Moroccan-looking tea-lights....
...some candlesticks...
... a bit of Christmas razzle-dazzle....

...a few flower garlands...

and a crowd of little black artists mannequins.
We went to the Theme from JAK garage sale today. The wee girl loaded up two boxes of treasures....(Yes, that first photo is what we took home).

..and then she did a spot of painting.

I'm not sure if there's much left (I bumped into some other crafty chicks who were loading up there this morning!!), but the garage sale is on again tomorrow. 50 Hope St Brunswick.

The best garage sale in town

I'll tell you this if you promise to get there AFTER I visit......

Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th Feb 10am – 3pm
50 Hope Street Brunswick

You may remember that
I went to one of the JAKsters' super-duper-all-sorts-of-fabulousness garage sales last year. I came home with a year's supply of party and craft materials, all sorts of tableware and little artists mannequins ....and a desire to buy fake grass, but (unfortunately) no use for it.

Now, if it wasn't for the fact that Jane and Kerryn are great girls with ENORMOUS TALENT (take a look at their website!), I'd be keeping schtum about this and grabbing all the goodies for myself.... but I can't help wanting to help them have a fantastically well-supported sale.
If you want to find out the sorts of things they'll be selling, check out their Facebook page.

Not your average garage sale

If you're around Brunswick tomorrow (Sunday 12th Sept), you could do worse things than pop in to visit my lovely soon-to-be-ex neighbours, Theme from JAK. They're having a garage sale before they move premises.

There isn't a broken toy or old pair of shoes in sight. There are river stones and fake turf.... xmas decorations by the ton....

Exotic Eastern homewares...

Razzle-dazzle musical notes....

Polystyrene numbers.... (Is that how you spell polystyrene?).

In fact... cut-outs to suit just about every theme possible....

Ribbons and bows and glittery bits....

Garlands and artificial flowers and vases and platters and....
...sticker mirror tiles (which kept my wee girl occupied this evening).
There are fantastic printed balloons, cocktail parasols, all manner of glittery, sequinsie things, baskets and lampshades and fairy lights and LOADS more interesting and gorgeous things. I've bought enough party supplies to last until the wee girl's 21st.
Jane and Kerryn are super-talented event stylists, who specialise in big themed parties, Bar Mitzvahs and weddings. They have SO MUCH FUN STUFF to clear out before they move to their new digs....and it's all priced to SELL!

If you can get along, they'll be at 420 Victoria St Brunswick (Building B, which is through the carpark at the back of my building) from 10am tomorrow.
