On a trip out west to see family today, I dropped in some patterns and samples to Itchin' for Stitchin at 11 Grant St, Bacchus Marsh (just up the road from where I finished High School).
While I was talking patterns and snapping photos, I set the wee girl a task to find her favourite fabric....
In her own words, "There are too many that I really, really love!"
There really is a fabulous range of fabrics, ribbons, embroidery threads and all sorts of everything. There are Phaff sewing machines.... and now, You SEW Girl patterns! And yes - we found an absolute favourite fabric.....
PS. The girl is wearing an A-line shift dress, adapted from THIS book, in Martha Negley fabric.

That fabric is so gorgeous ... all of it. OMGosh I love that cat fabric ... it is my favourite.
The wee girl will go far! I'd kill to have a fabric shop like that over here!!
Great choice, love those kitties. Tracee xx
And she found the cat fabric.... what a surprise!
Itchin for stitchin - we all know that feeling!
What a surprise! It has cats on it!!
Thanks for posting that! My Mother-in-law had said there was another patchwork shop in Bacchus Marsh but I hadn't seen it as we drove down Grant Street. At least now I know it is there to be found! The other is at the top of Main Street just after Grant.
I was hoping she would pick that lovely alphabet fabric, but of course, she went for the cats. It looks like a lovely shop, I see a few fabrics there that I would like. I'm itching for some stitching today....
How have I not seen that shop? I must have driven past it a thousand times on the way to Ballarat!
Now I now the perfect travelling pitstop.
Beautifully appropriate fabric choice. Love the dress too, I have that book on loan from my library at the moment, I must actually make one before I take it back.
Beautiful fabrics. Let your itch stitch, girl!
Looks like a perfect mother-daughter kind of day. :-)
