...was spent looking after Swappy* (rhymes with HAPPY).
A star-tipped swizzle stick was waved and I was declared SUPER Mummy.
My charge was this lovely Two Little Banshees caterpillar who "is just a little baby" and needed feeding, burping and carrying around all day.
Apparently Swappy didn't need as many naps as I suggested he might, and he wasn't comfortable near the computer.
What does a Super-Mummy do when she has a looming deadline...? Burp and feed a soft toy caterpillar, make a batch of cupcakes with the four-year-old (Swappy was napping), do the weekly grocery shopping and umpteen loads of washing.... and try to remember to breathe.
Cest le vie.
*I think the wee one spends too much time in Ikea. Her toys all have names like Swappy, Flakker, Sippo...

Breathing is good. You should do that.
Cheers,
AJ
I am so glad he found a good home and someone to look after him!
Sometimes there are just more important things than looming deadlines!
Haha at the Ikea names!
Swappy is cute! Shame he's so needy. I guess he's less work than the real deal though.
Swappy looks pretty cool. I'd just be happy to be dubbed Super Mummy!
Hey, and you know .... you WILL meet your deadline one way or another. Just tell the publisher that your loyal audience is patient!
A little distraction is not a bad thing, and swappy looks pretty darn perfect!
Just popped along to visit after seeing you had kind of agreed with my comment on Hoppo Bumpo about what you would do if someone threatened to snatch a roll of fabric you were holding. Wimps of the world ought to stick together.
Nice blog. Good luck at your big show.
Fiona.
Seriously Nikki, I am in total awe at the amount of work you do... and with cup cakes and extra baby sitting just been added into the mix, you have just been promoted to wonder woman!
I hope the project is going well. Give me a call if you need any last minute help with S&C. More than happy to lend you and Cam a hand.
Talk soon, Cinta
Oh goodness me ... your Swappy is sounding awfully like our Ellie (a grey, but used-to-be-blue, minky elephant). Perhaps we could share an au pair for them?
