And it has fun gadgets!
My dream machine is finally mine. There will no doubt be much waxing lyrical about this baby over the next wee while, but right now I'm too tired to type. Too much excitement for one day.
I had a lovely evening at the Emergency Northern Craft Bonanza but now I'm all talked out.

PS. The gadget that was the last new kid in town is just for looks, it seems. It won't fit any of my machines - it's for a slant machine, which are really rare here. I overlooked that bit when I was bedazzled by the cute case.

Knew it.
Oooh aaaahh, isn't she lovely!
Can't wait to see what fun you have with this new toy Nikki!
I missed Cam's post about the change of dates for NCB - was looking toward coming for the first time next week - never mind - another time!
Ooooh! A new machine! How EXCITING! I can't wait to see what you do with it.
It's far too late and I have just turned off my dream machine, which incidently is the same as yours. I am totally Bernina now! Yey for you. Enjoy.
WOW ... says it all ;))
oh, I love my 440... welcome to the club....
I just wish it had a thread cutter.
then it would be perfecto..
Congratulations on your new kid! I hope you will have many happy hours together. Does she get a name?
Great toy you've got!!!!
Surely you'll make good use of it, Nikki!
I've got one.... And I can promise you that you won't be dissappointed.
Congrats!
Nikki - you will love it! I have one and it is the best! It is so nice to sew on! Enjoy it!
Enjoy your new baby!!
Oh Nikki, we're on the same page. I had an old Bernina 830 which died in September. I went to collect the body and laughingly said "if I was to replace this machine what would you recommend?".... well the shop ladies eyes lit up as she guided me to that Bernina Aurora 440... and the rest, as they say, is history. I left the shop with the dear old machine and the gorgeous new one as well... Still paying for it! You have lots of fun with it!!
GREEN with envy...
Oh, yummy yummy Bernina!! I might have thought you'd be bold and bought the new 820 ;). I would if I could justify the expense!
Pity about the Singer thingie but you're right, it still looks cool.
Love the Bernina. I bought an old second hand one just for free hand machine embroidery. I love it. One day I might get a dream machine as well, I'm very attracted to that gadgets box.
Enjoy.
Yay Bernina! If I can make one suggestion to help you out... just at the point where you feel like your new machine couldn't be any dreamier... at that moment go out and buy a #10 foot. Edgestitching heaven. Though I only have a 240PE and not a bit lovely like yours, I can safely say a #10 will make a world of difference.
Ohhhhh Nikki! I hope you have heaps of fun with your new bernina and I bet the wee girl has lots of fun with the accessory box like Maya does (just like a mini dollshouse..)
Oh wow. I think I won't even ask about what that machine does (I bet it makes you a cappucino while you sew...) - the mind boggles! I will be too jealous if I start asking questions. (Still, I won't begrudge you, a professional, the right to a whizz-bang machine or two, after all your years of hard work!!!)
No wonder you're in love! Look at that whole little cabinet full of gadgets.
Ooh, shiny shiny and computerised! Very spiffy! How exciting for you :)
Ooh, look at all those buttons. And bits to play with. What fun! Enjoy.
Oh looks so good, you know, it can totally change your style & ease of sewing. New machinery breathes new life into handmade. Love Posie
you will love your 440, i've had one for 4 years now...love it. It has so many accessories that will make your sewing a breeze, they are worth all the money you spend on them!
Smart blog...thanks for sharing your experteeze with all of us...

Congratulations! What a beauty!
all I have to say is wow, buttons. And, look at the sewing bed (is that what it's called?) soo, roomy.
You will so love this machine! I got mine as a present (the plus side of a big '0') but it was second hand, so I never got any lessons. However just playing with it has been fun and if you get the chance I am sure a few lessons will really open your mind to its full creative potential.
The only "downside" of this machine (compared to pre computerised machine) is that my pre school boys think its all of its buttons need pushing, despite the fact that I am in the middle of sewing on it! Enjoy!
Hi Nikki, it was raining inside our house! The hailstones broke holes in our corrugated plastic sheeting which covers our back porch so we had a bit of fun for a few minutes. I kept sewing in between though.
I just put some photos on Flickr but I don't know if I can add them to my blog.
I have applied to set up a stand at the Daylesford market during the Easter break. Waiting on a reply. I spoke to a patchworker at Amitie who I am buddies with and she said she may share a stall with me at markets. Her stuff is brilliant and some of the markets are too expensive to do alone.
All happening at the moment.
Hey, you will LOVE this little baby!
OOhh congratulations!!! I have been dreaming of the 440 for way too long, and am now eyeing the 730 or 830 (yah, like in my dreams!) very happy for you!!! I know i will be doing the pinch me and the happy dance all at once when I finally get mine! LOL!
Fabulous! I hope you enjoy your 440 as much as I do mine. :)
I also agree with Amy that foot #10 is great. I use it a lot.
I love my 440 - and the Barbie wardrobe that comes with it just begs to be filled with new wonderul feet!
Congratulations! I had a lot of fun reading all the comments about the 440 too as I am getting one for my birthday in a month's time. Have to check out that #10 foot!! Enjoy - looking forward to seeing how it changes your life!?!
