I wore my newly re-knit and revamped blue dress yesterday, and thought to take a few photos.
It appears that I have only about three standing poses, as yesterday's photos look almost identical to the first round.... only this time with a few minor improvements in the dress (and more hair on my head).
This time, the shoulders are seamless and the side seams are smoother. The gauge is slightly tighter.
I'm far happier with this result than the first, but there are still lessons to be learned with this yarn and this principle of no-brainer patternmaking for knitwear (it's a rectangle with a slit in the middle for a neckline). And I still have to work a bit on even tension (perhaps I should have washed that yarn before re-winding and knitting again...). But generally, I'm ok with it.
...so I ripped out the red dress to start that again, too...

Looking good. Well worth the effort of pulling out and re-doing. I'm collecting my machine today. I'm itching to get back into it!
Nikki. You are rocking the dress. I really love the seamless shoulders. A great line and look. You also look very gorgeous and curvy, in all the good ways.
The curves are more about the wide angle on the lens, Ms Lal. But yes - the design idea is coming along. :)
I love that if it doesn't quite work, you can unravel it and re-knit it. I need to set up my knitting machine....!
It's sure looking good and this hand-knitter who gave away her knitting machine is feeling a little jealous. As for the red one, it looked fabulous to start with so I don't know what sort of superlatives it will require.
you obviously don't eat a lot of shortbread
I have a lot to learn in this department. Looking fabulous
Home and catching up now, looking very cool and slinky! If it makes you feel better though, apparently if you're big you want them hoisted up for all to see by your undies too, coated in layers of itchy lace...
Love the apron and what a great idea with the yarn bombing. Hope your week got better!
Ah the beauty of knitting (especially machine knitting!). If you don't like it, just undo it and start again!
