I dropped into GJ's Discount Fabrics today to ...ahem.... drop off a sample of the Draped T-Dress for display. I came out with this load (already excitedly-cut-into before I remembered to photograph it....).
The new range of re-released Amy Butler Gypsy Caravan, along with David Butler's new range (the name escapes me) had just arrived. The girls were making room on the shelves......
You wouldn't believe what was being put on the $12 table.....
Patty Young's Andalucia, Hunky-Dory by Chez Moi for Moda, Geniveve by Henry Glass, Flower Sugar by Lycien, Oh Boy by David Walker, Giselle by Red Rooster.... and that fabulous paisley by Alexander Henry, which I bought for my cousin Jan, who can't seem to get enough of the swirly stuff.
I got a little bit excited.
I bought more fabric.
Oops.

That paisley looks AWESOME!
not a pre-washer then...
I bought a ton of fabric in the sales in Jan, and haven't been able to cut into any of it. By the time my spring sewing happens it's be spring where you are!
are you allowed to buy pooches instead of kitties?
You sew girl, indeed!
I 'accidently' ordered some fabric last week, one lot from USA and another from Qld......then the dirty dogs emailed me with more temptation and I ordered again!! Today the first two orders arrived....I am in heaven, but after the next lot arrive I am NOT going to open their emails for at least a month...well a week....at least for the next day or so...if I can hold out :O) ( maybe)
those fabric's are goregous!! <3 x
I purchased some (all) of the 'Curious Nature' prints by David Butler and keep looking at my favourite and wanting to take to it with my cutter, but am trying so so hard to be good, as I have it ear-marked for your 'zipper' class in July. I just love it and know that it will look great made into your bag.
The paisley really is amazing; I want some.
Ahhh, I wish GJ's was my local still, I miss the Melbourne crafting scene. I thought here in the centre of Europe it would be even bigger and brighter, if it is I haven't managed to find it yet.........At least I can keep connected virtually! :-)
ooooh nice!
Oh these fabrics are just gorgeous. Love the fabric with the dogs on it....very cute.
Lovely fabrics. I am currently on the look out for some nice floral prints.... jealous of your finds:)
Sometimes accidents are meant to happen Nikki!!! My all time fav is Flower Sugar, love it. $12 WOW.
Heh, don't you hate it when fabric just leaps into your basket like that... ;o)
Totally understandable. Accidental fabric purchases can happen to anyone, almost anytime and very often at GJ's!!
Oh, I love your fabric purchase accidents... Am I wrong in remembering they happen ummm. not too irregularly? !!
I wish we had a good fabric shop - actually, any fabric shop would be good. None in my town. I miss going and stroking fabric and being inspired.
Happy sewing.
Wonderful!
Fabric purchases are NEVER accidental, they are meant to be.. :-)
I love a happy accident!
Oooh, would love to have an accidental fabric purchase like this.
Just clicked on the link to GJ's, unfortunately they don't appear to be open on a Saturday......may have to plan a long weekend trip to Melbourne soon.
