*Nobody is more surprised than I am! Saturday was the Shell Purse Class... ...a lovely day of stitching and chatting with 6 lovely ladies, finishing up with 6 lovely new purses.
Somewhere between a post office queue and a page-load on the computer, I finished my linen crochet lace top (photos forthcoming...). I've now started on my very first practise sock. I'm using this book, some yarn from Auntie Wilma's stash and my fancy-schmantzy new circular needles, working slowly through my first practise mini-sock. I have some lovely new yarn to use when I get the hang of it.
Sunday... a day of...
.....laundry, vacuuming, bathroom-cleaning and Father's Day cake making. (The cake was decorated by the sweetest tooth in the house, for the bloke who thinks there's no finer snack than a lump of feta cheese and bread...). ...and more vistors (she says, looking out the window to see the extended family of in-laws arriving....).
Can I have a weekend soon...?

Oh wow, WHAT a weekend! We actually managed to have a relaxing weekend for once, and I finished off chores at a moderate pace, got up to date with many things that needed getting up to date, played with my fancy new smartphone, and reconnected with my husband and kids. It's been lovely - other than hubby having to call the police this morning while I was at church because Stella went missing for 20 minutes...she was eventually found hiding in the linen cupboard. Who would have thought that she could stay quiet and still for that long?
How is next weekend looking - can we schedule a catch-up? And I can't wait to see that top!
Those shell purses are beautiful - looks like it was a great class!
I'm having a much more relaxing weekend - starting lots of projects and finishing none of them!! And - even more dangerously - planning yet more! I'm scared of socks though - I don't think I'll be going down that route any time soon especially as I'm not a fan of circular knitting needles (or DPNs) ... good luck with yours!
You are a busy gal!
We had a quiet day today with a few other families for a Father's Day picnic. Had a lovely conversation with a lady who intends to fly to Melbourne with 2 crafty friends to go to a bag making workshop. "Oh" I said. "That wouldn't be one of Nikki's, would it?"
So those classes are going to keep you busy for a while longer apparently ;)
Did you get your secret project finished in time for the deadline?
why do squirrels always get the best stuff?
Oh dear. . .
Life just gets so busy doesn't it? Where does the time go? Infinite tasks to fit into finite time... tricky.
Loving all those wonderful purses. Stunning fabric used. Lovely. So exotic. Must get to Melbourne once I'm no longer a feeding machine and sign up for a class me thinks.
Enjoy the swimming... great time to have some thinking time and solitude as you move up and down the lane.
ARE YOU SERIOUS? PRACTISE SOCK? I'm lucky if I'd ever make it to the second of the pair...
Walking past my local ABC shop, I did a double take when I saw your book in prime position. Congratulations, it is lovely!
With your lifestyle I think you'd have to book a weekend for yourself well in advance! In the meantime, your weekends still look a lot like fun. ♥
