My Creative Space

Is under construction.....

Not quite as I'd planned....

This is the office. I'd carefully measured the Ikea desks and - working from the official floorplans of the room - planned the layout carefully. What I didn't count on was the skirting boards and minor inaccuracies in the floorplan making the room 2cm too small to fit the desks, no matter which way I arranged them.

There was much deconstruction and reconstruction (wound around a very long but ultimately fruitless call to the Optus helpline, trying to get the internet to talk to my computer...), a ditching of one major desktop and finally something that resembles a work space.

I'll be moving the office equipment and all the stock in as soon as I can. Hopefully we'll be ready to rock on Monday.

For more creative creative spaces, see the linky list over at Kirsty's.....

On a positive note - look at all that beautiful natural light streaming in!
Hope you're not too exhausted tonight.

Damn those pesky skirting boards! In the meanwhile, welcome home.

How rude of Murphy's Law to invade your space!

Don't you just hate it when that happens? Still, it looks great and I hope you succeed in getting everything moved in and set up over the next few days.

Deep breaths for the frustrating mismeasurement of the room, annoying!! Looking pretty streamlined though, happy setting up again, love Posie

Looks great Nikki, and it's going to be better than you planned. You'll see.

2 lousy centimetres!!! Egads!! You've got to trust that you will look back and laugh at this one day in the future. Right now, remember to eat and sit down now and then. ♥

Could you possibly cut the 2cm off? Jigsaw and hacksaw? The lighting is great though. Cherrie

Agh for 2cm! Well done for getting there in the end.

Lovin the progress pics!

Hi,
Looks great. I have an idea though. How about changing the legs on the desk. If you get the straight legs at all four corners they can be inset to avoid hitting the baseboards.

Ack! Only 2cm?! That would give me fits. Sounds like you're rolling with the punches, though, and getting everything smoothed out. Good on you! Happy unpacking!

It will all be worth it in the end when you have everything set up and ready for the opening of your new shop/studio.

We had bookshelves made for a room and were thwarted by the skirting boards - very frustrating!
