Man of the house: "So.... this evening....?"
Me: "I'm off to Sewjourn. I'll be back sometime Sunday afternoon".
Man of the House: "What...?" (Looks totally bewildered)
(...and he says he listens to me?)
So I'm off with my other true love for the weekend. Seeya Sunday.

Ooh, I sat NEXT to Andi's machine on Sat, it was a bit to fancy pants for me! But now I've re-read your post about it, I get it. And might get one one day! Have a great weekend (at least you're not sick this time!)
* sigh* I fear I am may never be good enough at sewing to justify such an amazing machine- you, on the other hand, totally deserve it.
I bought this same model just months ago & am sewing up a storm! Love it, love it, love it ! I hug it too.
all too familiar (the not hearing/ listening thing- not the swanning around doing fun crafty adventures :))
I hope you have a fab weekend Nikki. Sew well ;o)
So funny!!! Why don't they ever listen?
Have fun!
Typical bloke really.... ! :D
Have a wonderful time!
They never listen Nikki. I have to email my other half with the details or he would never know what was going on. Have fun
Hahahaha! I second Cass' with the email thing. You can even send details straight from the Outlook calendar! Have a fantastic weekend!!!
I don't bother to tell mine until a couple of weeks before as he doesn't remember and if he does it is some fuzzy date in the future that doesn't mean anything until he sees the bags packed at the door ready to leave. Then i hear the comment, your never home.
I'll sometimes write something on the calendar the day before it's happening, and then say, "But it's on the calendar..."
Have a fab weekend, I'm green with envy :)
ps. are we married to the same bloke?
Ohh, I hope you enjoy yourself, love that machine!
Jealous!!! Of both machine and your beautiful weekend away with your sewing buddies. Enjoy! Will be inspecting new wares on Wednesday.
Crumbs Gyps! Do you not even know to whom you are married??? Put the pina coladas down girl I say.
Hope you had a triffic time Nik, looking forward to hearing all the stories.
I don't think listening to partners say that they are leaving for a weekend of crafting is one of men's strongest virtues lol. I am away for 4 days next weekend for some of the same but hubby seems to appreciate that it will be him, 3 kids and a lot of hours to fill. In return I am filling the freezer before I abscond lol.
