I showed someone this screw punch today and they were a bit impressed. I must say it was gadget-love at first sight the first time I saw one... I forgot to take a photo of it in my post about pattern card (for which it's EXTREMELY USEFUL!), so HERE 'TIS!!

Voila - pattern dot marked on cardboard pattern with a lovely neat hole!
You wouldn't need to spend a fortune on a ritzy patternmaking tool unless you're an industrial patternmaker - but if you're making a few cardboard patterns it's good to have something that does the trick. I've seen all sorts of punches like this in the papercrafts sections of Officeworks and Spotlight.

Ooooh brilliant. That's a very nifty idea. I'd better get one of those! I started using a little hole punch - the sort that you use for punching paper to go in a folder. But that only works if the hole in question is right next to the edge of the paper! (I can be a bit slow in the logic department sometimes).
I saw one of those being used on Martha last week. Its very impressive...time for a shopping spree maybe!

and yes all us crafty types don't get time for things like manicures...it would cut into to much valuable sewing time...

This is a great looking tool. I also like that (like me) you are a blogger without perfectly painted and manicured fingernails. Mine are all usually different lengths, ragged and unpolished.
