Other trade secrets -
- GOOD QUALITY MATERIALS - from the inside out. Cheap fabrics and cheap interfacing are just not worth the trouble.
- The right interfacing for the job makes the world of difference.
- "Press as you go" when you're sewing, and use an iron with a good shot of steam.
Amelia came up with this weeks theme for Angela's "This Is..." meme.

I love sewing gadgets!
I really need to learn about interfacing and how to use it properly.
I like your press as you go secret. You can't beat a lovely steam iron ( ... except if you are perhaps sewing, ahem, a velvet garment)
I so totaly agree with what you say girl. The only thing I still don't use is the bias tape maker. Still making them the old fashion way. You have a nice day.
I agree with the bias tape maker 100%! I only recently purchased one and don't know how I ever lived without it.
yep, I agree with everything you've written here. :o)
I know my Nana had a bias tape maker similar to that but when I asked in a sewing shop they didn't seem to know what I meant. I KNOW how to cut the endless strips. LOL
I too was taught to press, press, press and haste does make a mess quite often. I know...
I loved this trade secret so much I am off to order one right now. Thanks, I have been doing it the old fashioned way.
