I haven't worked out how to embed video in my blog yet... but here's a link.

It's the final few scenes of the film Gallipoli. I've seen the movie about four times throughout my life, and each time it chills me. This is a fictionalised account of the Gallipoli landing in WW1, but I cry for the loss of beautiful young lives wasted in bungled or futile military campaigns throughout time. I cry for families losing loved ones, children growing up without parents or parents outliving their children (a parent's worst nightmare).
See...? It gets me every time.
Thanks to three buttons for "this is" and flightless boyds for this week's theme.

Mmmm - I agree. Devastating stuff.
BTW - to embed a video from YouTube, just copy the HTML text that is in the little field in the upper right of the screen titled 'Embed' (under the poster's user details and added date), and paste it into the box on your post where you write your text.
Cheers,
J
hey..so true about this film! I have a copy of Gallipoli on DVD and find that I still feel the same as I did when I first watched it at age 13 at the movies. It's truly a captivating movie... great post, now I may just have to go back and watch it again!
Oh yes ... the last scene in Gallipoli brings a tear to my eye every time. Its very moving. And even more so now that I have my own two boys.
It is certainly a powerful and very emotional movie-gets me every time too.
Yes! That is an amazing and tear jerking scene. Good to see that Juddie has pointed you in the right direction for popping videos in.
Your description gave me goosebumps too.
