Yesterday, the wee girl and I finished off Tania's Hot Frog and all-but-the-wheels made Claire's Sausage Roller sock kit.
Today began with me pulling out a bag pattern I started last year ...then I found some unfinished samples for the book, in lovely Pippiejoe fabric. Finished them off (not that there's a huge hurry for photos - the editing process is yet to begin).
Back to the bag pattern.... I went looking for fabric and found a felted jumper. I was inspired to hack off the arms to wear it as a vest (it was beginning to get a bit cold in the studio and a lot colder out in the carpark, where I was headed).
It needed a little tweaking.
The pale grey chalk-stripe across the chest and back had to go.
The arms and neck needed a bit of finishing.... hmmmm... could do with a bit of shaping, too...
Great! A new top. (Must show Gina, Queen of Refashion).
Ummm... not sure what happened to the bag pattern. I suspect I'm having commitment issues while the previous relationship is still up in the air.
I'm not used to sitting still and I hate waiting for anything - least of all direction. Until the editor gets back to me, there's a good chance you'll see every UFO in my stash done and spontaneous refashions galore.
One day there may even be a new bag pattern.
I was wondering what you would be doing with yourself now. I'm guessing it might take a little while for it all to wear off.
ReplyDeleteYou are still 'travelling'. UFO vanquishing sounds good, but since you HAVE to wait - try more of that stuff called fun. You'll get the hang of it in no time!
ReplyDeleteAnd chocolate. Chocolate always helps.
That is one very la-di-da-di-dah frog!
Cheers,
AJ
Oh, an impetus to clean out the UFOs - what a wonderful thing!
ReplyDeleteOh shall I send you all the stuff I have to finish?
ReplyDeleteI totally LOVE the frog!
ReplyDeleteThat re-fashioned top is truly wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteStill, it must feel good to be attacking the UFO pile!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the vest, and the toys are brilliant!
I can send you some of mine if you like Nikki!
ReplyDeleteEnojoy the freedom while it lasts!
Careful , we'll be lining up with things we want you to do .
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I LOVE your felted vest refashion. Do you know I haven't actually made one for myself? Must get onto that this winter. Very very cool to be getting into some kiddy-creations too. They look ace. Not showing William in case he wants them...
ReplyDeleteWhoa, you're like on a perpetual Friday-night-it's-the-weekend high! Milk it lady, milk it. And keep those refashions coming. Instant gratification that.
ReplyDeleteI have a frame purse idea/project that has your name all over it! It's way out of my league as far as pattern making goes....
