Can anyone else use them...? They're mostly yard, half-yard or yard-and-a-half lengths (and there may be a few two metre lengths too, I think).
If you're inspired by Jodie and have an idea of what you'd like to make with these selvedges, leave a comment to let me know and I'll send you the bundle. If there are lots of responses I might have to draw names out of a hat.

EDITED TO ADD: Looks like there's going to be a hat involved here....
And while you're over at Jodie's, check out the STUNNING selvedge quilt that some lovely, lovely people made for her special birthday present.
I would LOVE some of your selvage's ^_^
ReplyDeleteI have been saving them for a while now and dont nearly enough to do anything decent with, I seem to have bad luck with fabric purchases and get the last bit of the label!
I want to make a set of sewing holder accessory bits and pieces for all my sewing supplies.
I would put some to use. I want to make a skirt out of selvdeges but am too slow with my collecting (I'll be 80 at the rate I'm collecting lol before I make it) Have you thought of making a slow and painful but very rewarding selvedge quilt?
ReplyDeleteI too have been inspired by Jodie and it takes forever to get enough for a decent project, I'd love to be in the running for some of these! Will pay postage X
ReplyDeleteMiriam
It sure is addictive to keep them after Jodie's wonderful inspirational sewing. Glad you liked the quilt. It looked just fabulous up close and personal. Emma did a good job with co-ordinating the project and putting it together.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but in France, the fabric I buy never have those white selvages (except of course if it's imported from America). Wouldn't those, sewn together in a patchworky way, make lovely straps for bags?
ReplyDeleteJodie's quilt is amazing, just like her work. I have my own stash of selvages because I can't toss them out any more either!
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki
ReplyDeleteIt's not really a creative project but I know that my daughter's kinder would LOVE them if you have some to spare. The kids cut, glue, twist and learn to plait or what ever wonderful craft project the teachers have for them.
You can't start them crafting & creating too early !
Cheers
Jenny
I would love some. I'm experimenting with rag brooches... and I dont sew so I dont have any scraps.
ReplyDeleteever since I saw a pick of that dress, I have wanted something selvedgy of my own. I'd make a wee little handbag with wooden handles. at this rate though, you gunna run out of ones to give away. (:
ReplyDeletei've only recently discovered selvedges (when i think of how many i must have chucked out over the years - grrrrr!!) now i'm saving as many as i can - in fact i'm in danger of becoming addicted so yes please i'd love some
ReplyDeletegill
I, like Jay, would make a smallish handbag out of them. I have some but it's taking forever to build up enough to make anything.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! :)
Yes please! I'd love a bit of selvage love. I'd like to use them for a sewing set, some pincushion gifts for my stitchy friends and a small strings wall quilt. Pretty please put my name into one of your yummy hats.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the love! I can't wait to meet you in May at "Sew It Together".
Kelly :-)
I have made several selvage projects, but most recently I have been saving them to make a quilt. I would love to add these to my collection! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteOh, I also always keep the selvages! Much too nice to throw away! I'd love to use them in a set of beautiful small pouches... I think it would look so cute! =)

ReplyDeleteI would love to make a coin quilt with the selvages. I just got the book at Christmas but don't have enough to start a quilt with yet.
ReplyDeletedon't toss & keep on saving Nikki, looks like the rest of us are just getting started with those edge pieces. I'm saving both sides too. Almost enought to do something with but what? I'd love more...
ReplyDeleteOh....I LOVE selvages! I would love to have them. Wouldn't they be cute in a circle skirt?
ReplyDeleteoh yes please, I love selvages, can't get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteYou can't help but be inspired by Jodie! I have plans to make the quilt I saw in Down Under quilts mag that featured Jodie. Takes forever to save selvedge when you mainly use vintage fabrics!
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki,
ReplyDeleteI've been saving selvages too......have made a few small projects with them but now my goal is to make the Zinger Selvage Quilt. Recently I cleaned out the really old and yucky 'why the heck did I buy that' fabric from my stash - cut the selvages off and kept them and chucked the rest out!!!! Please count me in.
ooooh! I would love a selvedge bundle. I've been saving mine to make a sewing/craft tote bag but haven't got enough yet.
ReplyDeleteohh, i would love these, its such a slow process to collect them! i have a teeny tiny box of them that looks quite sad.
ReplyDeleteI would like to make a cushion using a string quilt type pattern.

ReplyDeleteI didn't realise that people actually kept and used them!
ReplyDeleteI love Jodi's work, and her blog is pretty entertaining too!
ReplyDeleteI love selvages and would make a fabulous pincushion and sewing set - maybe also a small bag, if there were enough! Thanks for throwing my name into your hat - what a great giveaway!!
ReplyDeletecant wait to see what everyone makes with the selvedges!
ReplyDeleteI've been saving for a selvage quilt but I think I might need some help :). Your selvages look sweet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun-looking mountain of selvages! I'd love to win them! Please add my name to the hat!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
They are amazing, that Selvage Blog is incredible, the things people do with the disused edge of fabric!! Grogeous, your colours will be amazing, love Posie
ReplyDeletewhat a lovley pile:) i am collecting so i can crochet some selvedge goodness. fi xo
ReplyDeleteOh I'm with you I can't BEAR to part with a selvedge. Saving them for ... something .... I was thinking cushion, little zipper pouches, pin cushions .... so yeah would love to add to my collection with yours!
ReplyDeleteoh, i hope you pick my name out of the hat!!! i would use them in weaving to make a wall art, or make some wrist pincushions, or a small zipper purse. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, pick me please! I have so many selvage projects running around in my wee little brain and not enough selvages yet!
ReplyDeleteooo, I'd love some, I'm planning a selvedge bag but my collecting is slow. Jodie is such an inspiration but I can understand her getting selvedgitis.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your saving/de-cluttering skills Nikki!! Please add my name to the hat. ox
ReplyDeleteThanks for your inspiring blog! I would love if you would add my name to the drawing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Janet in NY
If not too late, I would love to be in the drawing for some selvages. I find this a great way to do something new, so I am trying so collect some more selvages to have more to play with.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from DK
Anne-Mette
am I too late to ask to join in too? I am totally smitten by Jodie's selvedge work, and all of the others that I've seen since! I do have a small stash that I've been saving, but I would love more!
ReplyDeleteI'd like a quilt :)
I saw a reference to your blog on Selvage blog, can I still enter my name for a drawing? I am currently making a selvage project and would love to have more.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to save selvages for a project, but it is very slow going. I commented on todays post, but thought I would come back to your original offering. I'd love to be included in your drawing. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteooh!! goodness! am I too late?
ReplyDeleteI came from Karen Griska's Selvedge Blog and I just love selvedges!!
I use bits here and there for my Arabella Bags and soft sculpture Felines so I don't need alot but if there are any scraps left at the bottom of your basket they will be gratefully appreciated!
If still on, I'd love to add my name to the drawing. I'm currently making some selvage blocks, sure could use more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures of the sculptures - they are amazing and so wonderfully creative
thanks,
k
I would love to use some of those! If you are still looking for recipients, throw my name into the hat please!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Jennifer
I would like some of those selvages. I have a large project in mind and I do not have nearly enough selvages.
ReplyDeleteI think I already commented and put my name in for some extra selvages--but I don't see my name so maybe I'm dreaming. I arrived from Karen's selvage blog and from your feed.
ReplyDeleteI had a project in mind for selvages-all I've done are potholders and pincushions-but now I'm thinking of a zinger quilt to hang on the wall of my sewing room. Colorful selvages to add to my mostly tonal fabrics would be fun to use.
Thanks for the generosity,
Kathleen C. in CT
Please please please please please please! Pleae may I have some? Please Please Please!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela
I'dlove to have some selvedge tomake little makeup bags, pincushions or potholders. So many great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of anyone using selvages for projects until this week. I love them. I'm sure your stash is gone but just wanted to say thanks for sharing. I've been inspired.
