The lovely Kathryn of Our Shabby Cottage and I were discussing my paper dolls on the weekend. And what should arrive in the post this week, but a pretty paper doll print fabric from her stash.... I think this will be party-frock fabric for my girl. Thanks Kathryn - you really know how to brighten up a week!
And I found this fabulous cowl top on my cutting table - made in the softest, drapiest baby wool knit (while I was off at Sewjourn).
Glad to hear your week got better after a shaky start with the keys and all. So nice to get surprizes! Love the top!
ReplyDeleteWowser that dolly fabric is divine! So bright and cheery. :) Would make the perfect dress for your poppet. Hope you are feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteShabby is special - what a lovely surprise, and a new top from a fairy - lucky you! I have to write reports this weekend, so I might just have to have a go at making one instead. I usually get my sewing motivation around report time!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very gorgeous Nikki. Looking forward to seeing your weekend sewing efforts.
ReplyDeleteI love that top Nikki. Hooray for th elf.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl...I am coveting that fabric..gorgeous.
ReplyDeletelove the cowl neck tops you have been making, would like to make one for myself but not sure thay would suit a largish bust size ?? !!

I do love that top, Nikki!
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is adorable! And I love the top too.... mmm... where can I get myself a sewing elf like that....?
ReplyDeleteI love that dolly fabric, I bought some for my sister once - so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThat top is ACE!Wow, me likey!
That's such a wonderful top. I'm fascinated by the idea of making something without side or back seam, but it's doing my head in trying to understand how it would work!!
ReplyDeleteGina - it's a tubular knit - that's the way the fabric is constructed. The only seams needed are the ones in the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteI saw that top when I popped in last week and was extremely tempted to tuck it into my bag - it's gorgeous off, and even more gorgeous on! And how lovely of Kathryn to send you that beautiful fabric. She's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous top! Everytime I visit, I'm always so inspired. Someday I'll actually learn to use that machine!
