My Creative Space

I share my space with another creative soul, so the space is VERY creative indeed!

Beautiful turtles are drawn on the whiteboard (why else would I have a whiteboard..?).

Pattern gradings are recycled as "Super Caterpillar".

"Kits" are packaged carefully....
And baby dolls wear Mrs Potato Head's glasses.....
(Oh - and we made that hippo pillow together).

Too much creativity going on here to show (read: you'd be bored senseless with endless doting parent photos of cute kiddy craft...).
For other creative spaces head on over to Kirsty's...

  1. Now that's a crack up! Love the new kits.... and poor Mrs Potato Head, she might run into the wall without her glasses.

  2. Great pics Nikki! The wee one is such a funny and clever girl! It's nice to have a chuckle at work at her creativity (although I was sure you were grooming her up for some future packaging work :))
I really thought that was a drawing of a guitar at first glance, as did my (not so wee) girl - of course we can see now that it's a turtle! And with such fabulous detail as the shapes on the shell... She's a clever kid for sure - definitely takes after her mum!

  3. Very funny! This brings back happy memories. Now I have two teenage boys that also enjoy coming into my creative space and create, but it is not for publishing!

  6. Just a quick question - I'm having trouble with top stiching the bias binding on the bib I made using your free pattern. It looks twisted. I'm about to start making a hat, but I'd like to be able to sew bias binding neatly first. Do you have any tips?

  7. Naomi -make sure you're cutting bias tape on the TRUE bias - that is, a 45 degree angle from the selvedge. If you can't sew it on in one hit go for the traditional way of sewing it from the underside and turning it to the front and stitching it down.

  8. Hi Nic,
these little aspects of a creative workshop (sewing, designing) make it all the most beautiful to be in, don't they. I love love love the turtle.
Wish we had been able to visit you while in Melb, have to be next time.

take care, Ellie (Red Seed Studio).

  9. That's a fantastic turtle!!! They are so much fun at this age and very inventive. Mine stuck a sultana up her nose tonight and then asked me quite seriously 'how do I get a sultana out of my nose?'. Don't worry I have given the tweezers a good wash!

  10. I think you may have an artist on your hands - she had a handful to take home last night. A few weeks ago, I asked Dusty what her painting was of - "oh, it's just an original mum". Hope the cold has done its dash.

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
