Carry-All Carry-on

Working on the final details for the new Carry-All bag pattern.... and taking photos of bag details.Zipper gusset with (ahem...) flower zipper pull. (Yes, out of stock now). Strap with lovely shiny 62mm oblong rings.

Interior shot of the divider pocket, key fob and zip pocket.Exterior pocket with sew-in/hidden magnet (old-looking hand can be added if you're prepared to neglect your hands' beauty routine - and use them as crafting tools - for about forty years).

....NOW, the big dilemma is WHICH BAG TO PUT ON THE COVER????! I need some help here. What do you think?

Japanese floral with tie belt?

The red one with the flower print on the exterior pocket?

The beige one with the o-ring feature on the flap?

The brown one with the Flutterby print exterior pocket?

The brown/blue one with the tie AND flap?

I know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but we DO judge a pattern by the pic on the front....I'd love to hear what you think would attract you to this pattern if you were ONLY seeing the cover....?
Don't forget about the giveaway for this pattern, too. We'll be drawing it some time next week, by the look of it.

  1. This is a biased opinion since blue and brown is one of my all-time favorite color combinations, but I would pick up the pattern in a heartbeat if the last purse was on the cover. :)

  2. I am thinking that the red bag or the brown one with flutterby print would catch my eye the quickest, although they are all great!

  3. For me, the quickest to catch my attention would be the Japanese print with the tie. The fabric is yummy but not so distracting that you miss the other features of the bag. Lol, 3 comments, 3 different opinions.

  4. My votes for the red one with the flower print!

  5. I saw the Japanese print at your launch and it was breathtaking. Use that one, you will sell a gazillion.

  6. The red one would catch my attention immediately!

  7. The flutterby print caught my attention at your last launch but the red one would look best on the pattern. It is eye catching and clearly shows the shape of the bag. :)

  8. The red one. It's both sleek and bright.Captures my eye.

  9. I would buy the pattern if the red one was on the front...it is bright and captures the eye quickly.....

  10. The red one grabs me, lovely fabric and my favorite colour. But I also like the Japanese floral, because of the shape of the bag. Good luck deciding, they're all lovely!

  11. What a fab purse. I think the red, but I know I will buy it if it just has your name on the front!

  12. I don't think it's my favourite pattern variation, but the red bag is definitely the stand out for graphic/bold definition, and I think it would be best on the cover. My favourite of the variations is either the tie or tie-plus-flap, and the fabrics in both are great :)

  13. I love the Flutterby version, but the Red one is nice, too.

  14. They are all fabulous! I love the Japanese floral and the red one makes quite a bold statement! Perhaps you could put a montage on the bag cover of the pattern showing the variations.

  15. The red is the most stricking, it catches the eye quickly and if I was browsing through patterns, I would be drawn to it. Its not my favourite varition on the pattern but its definatly stands out.

  16. I think the red and the tan would be the most eyecatching for me, since I think those are the easiest to see the actual pattern style. =) Which I want. I wish I wasn't a teacher sometimes.

  17. Can't wait for the pattern...but really fingers crossed Santa picks me for the giveaway. For the cover I vote for the red one in large and a smaller inlay box of the beige one...if that of course is possible. That would showcase to very different versions, therefore appealing to a wider range of folks to buy (pattern by it's cover theory). Can you tell I'm in marketing (sorry it's in my threads). Good luck and I know it will sell.

  18. How about the reverse opnion too...I think the beige one wouldn't stand out enough, and the brown/blue one is too busy, so you can't see the details of the pattern.

  19. The red one to attract your attention.

  20. can I suggest since this is a multi purpose pattern you need to look at some sort of mosaic showing the mutlti purposeness of this pattern

  21. I like the red one with the flower, it really draws my eye and the clean lines appeal to me, and then it looks cute and dressed up but is still sort of blank enough that I can see it as a blank canvas and imagine all the places I could go with it.

Either that or the brown-blue one.

  22. Japanese or flutterby over here, I wonder if this will be helpful-you might just get more confused!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love the one with the Japanese floral material. But then again, the brown and blue material is certainly the one for me... Great looking bag..looking forward to it.

  24. The blue and brown caught my eye immediately! Of course, those are two of my favorite colors!

    Great bags!

  25. Japanese with Tie Belt - hands down fabulous!

  26. Deffi the "The brown/blue one with the tie AND flap" :) I LOVE those colors!!

  27. The red one simply shows the beautiful lines, but the Japanese floral is pretty darn cute!

  28. the blue and brown one. perfect. Cherrie

  29. wow they are all gorgeous...
i like the red one cause i think it would stand out...but i really would like the blue/brown if i was going to make one...

  30. I love the blue and brown or the japanese fabric but they all look great!

    ReplyDelete
  31. my personal favourites would be either #1 or #4. loving the pattern. Le sigh! One day I shall get brave enough.....

    ReplyDelete
  32. The red one - it would reach out and grab me as I walked by.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would pick the brown and blue one and I'm not normally a blue fan. All are fabulous and you really couldn't go wrong either way you choose.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ohhh that's tough! The red one is really sharp looking and very eye catching but The flutterby one is really beautiful! Well they're all great, but those two are my favourites for a cover.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love the Japanese print with the belt. Can I just have that one?

    ReplyDelete
  36. the red one with the flower, definitely, it is riveting and eyecatching.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would go for the japanes flowers and I hope to win the give away. I finished the teardrop. It's on my blog. www.mariejoze.blogspot.com

  38. My vote is for the red one it is so vibrant an lovely!
    Great bag by the way!

  39. I'm voting for the red bag, although all the versions are beautiful. I like the red for the cover because you can clearly see the lines of the bag's design with the solid colour of the main fabric. Plus I like the punch of the bold red and white print on the front pocket. Very eye catching!

    ReplyDelete
  40. My vote goes for the red bag, followed by the brown bag with the flutterby print on it. Heidi

  41. the red bag really shows the definition of the design, but the blue and brown bag is scrumptious!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. The first or the last for the pattern envelope, with eye catching fabrics. But I would buy your pattern because of the beige with the O-ring. And that's because I'm not for bags out of fabric, but I like leather (or faux leather) bags for myself and see such a bag in the beige variation. I absolutely love to see all those nice variations on bags of fabric, but they just are not "me".

    ReplyDelete
  43. I like the beige because you can use it with any colour outfit!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think of three - blue/brown one, beige and the japanese floral - in this order ;)

BTW They are all beautiful :) I like their design :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love the simplicity of the red one with the flower print but I also love the impact of the bold design on the brown/blue one, hmmmmm decisions decisions, can you have 2 pics on the cover? *lol*

if it comes down to it - the red one shows the detail of the bag a bit better on first glance I think :D

but then again the brown/blue one really shows the full potential of all the alterations....

so...... yep final decision is brown/blue one with the tie AND the flap :)

(love it so much I want to make one just like it - whats the name of the fabric? :D )

  46. By the way, what size is that interior pocket? Will it fit a 15" laptop??

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi Nikki,
Most definitely the red one as it is the most eye catching.
    Heather

  48. well,if you're looking for visual impact, then the red one does it for me. Although they're all really very nice.
