I dug these out to show you a few snippets from my folio.
Note on construction for millinery/sewing enthusiasts: These are all cut-and-sew hats, made of fabric, pvc and mesh - no chemical stiffeners used. There's just interfacing in some of them, others are made with rigid fabrics. The shaping is all in the patternmaking.
...and I'm sorry but the patterns for THESE babies will be a LOOOOONNNNG time coming. (Well if these simple sunhat instructions are anything to judge by...)

ReplyDeleteAs a young girl I went through a stage of wanting to be a milliner! But sadly not a lot of opportunitites to learn such a skill growing up in rural Tasmania. Plus I don't think a town of 500 was ready for such impressive headgear...
