My Creative Space

Is being packed up and labelled... we're on the move.... All going well, we'll be moving in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted. It's just amazing how much space my creativity can take up... how many cupboards and shelves and boxes..... and how much is yet to be done (actually, that's not so much "amazing" as "completely daunting").

Of course, it's all terribly useful, but I'm having to cull a bit. The "freebie" box in the hallway is looking a bit full.
As I clear out cupboards and shelves, I'm reminded of when I was a kid and cleaning up my bedroom took forever (read: I'm finding lots of forgotten things to play with!!).
Many thanks for good wishes for lurgie-riddance. It's still hanging in the background a bit but I'm much better, thanks. Today I hardly noticed it at all ....although that might have had more to do with the accidental self-inflicted stab-wound in my arm (a long story..... actually, a moral tale about believing all your mother told you about holding scissors safely...).

Pop on over to Kirst's to see what other creative and crafty types have been doing.

  1. Good luck to you with your move!

Imagine having over 30 years of crafting, painting, and sewing!! My Dtr tells me I'm getting close to being on the hoarders!

  3. WooHoo! You really, really are! (No one would subject themselves to a clean-outs and pack-ups on a half-notioned whim). Hugest congratulatories Mrs.

  4. It really is the thing to force you to sort stuff out.

My craft too takes up a lot of space in our little house too.

  7. The move sounds very exciting! Can't wait to hear the details. I keep on looking in my sewing room and thinking "yes I have to clean you up, but whenever I am in you, the last thing I want to do is clean .."

  8. Oh yeah, I've got a heap of those plastic crates in the shed - they are so handy for storage! We're moving in two weeks so I'm hitting up K-mart for about 10 more I reckon.

  9. Oooooh, how exciting Nikki! I can't wait to hear about the new digs :-)

Btw, do you know how much my girl would love to have a "shiny/drapey/sparkly" box of her very own?! She would be in heaven!

  11. As someone who moves interstate every 2-3 years, packing up a husband with all his Army gear, my businesses, 4 children & all their beds, toys, bikes etc, i can tell you, my craft boxes are almost half the entire load!! It's embarrassing, i pack before the removalists come so they can't see the true form of my addiction/ tax deduction. Fingers crossed, next move is the last one!! Good luck, happy moving, love Posie

  12. Oh yukky, I hate all that packing. It all seems so depressing, like you're packing away all these memories both good and bad. Still, with new premises it'll all be worth it. Hope you keep your strength up (despite wounds!) and take care (no more wounds!!). :D

  13. Its funny, that first photo is an optical illusion of how big those containers of fabric really are!

  16. Never a dull moment with you, is there? ;o) Best wishes on your move, Nikki. Love seeing the labelling on your packed boxes - interesting to see how you group the stash.
Yikes! A scissor stabbing is not good. Hope it's minor and won't slow you down. Can't wait to see how you set up in your new digs. Very exciting!

  18. Gee, I would quite fancy being close enough to have a jolly good rummage through that freebie fabric box! Good luck with the move Nikki, and please hold your scissors correctly, dangerous woman!

  19. Oh wow that could be a daunting task - except for the fun you have finding hidden treasures. Hope the move goes smoothly.

  20. Good luck with your move. We did it at the beginning of the year, great time to "move on" the unwanted items. Eye surgery was successful.

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
