The Great Divide

There were so many people interested in my selvedges that I felt bad about giving them all to one person. I decided to divide them into "large letter" size lots (vacuum-packed in zip-lock bags) and post them out to a few randomly chosen people. Some of you may have received a bundle (if you happen to be a regular customer) and some may have received an email asking for your address.

I'm in the middle of a huge (but very, very secret) sew-fest, so the selvedge stash is growing daily. I'll keep drawing out names for letter-size bundles until the stash is gone.

I'm sorry but I haven't had time to do any fancy linky stuff about the winners. Believe me - I really have been drawing names out and I really have been sending parcels out.

  1. What a great idea, I love that you're sharing the selvage love around! I'll keep my fingers crossed and check my letterbox daily. ;-)

Did you see the gorgeous spiderweb quilt on Tallgrass Prairie Studio, which Jodie inspired and contributed selvages to. Here's the link: http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2010/02/love-says-it-all.html

So much selvage goodness in blogland! :-)

  5. How nice of you to share your selvage stash! Have you considered making something with them yourself? It is lots of fun to sew selvages together for a quilt or tons of other things. Take a look at www.selvageblog.blogspot.com for inspiration. Did you know that selvage quilts are washable and very sturdy? If you make something with them, email me and I'll show it on the blog. Besh wishes to you.

  13. That is certainly a nice pile. You really must be on a sewing fest (or at least a cutting fest) to have such a large pile. I hope your top secret mission is successful

  19. Can I be added. I've never made anything with selvages, but am so inspired by the Selvage blog to try. I only have a few of my own, not enough for a project yet.
    Thanks!

  20. I'd love to be part of your selvage giveaway; I began saving selvages after visiting Karen Griska's blog. Since my fabrics are mostly tone on tones, your selvages look much more interesting than mine. I've offered to cover an old footstool in selvages for my daughter.
I love the name of your blog and will subscribe to your feed. Thanks so much.

  22. I think this selvedge edge craze is pretty cool. I started the valances in my sewing room; got one window done. I'm only using aqua/greens for these so need to 'get' more. Don't know if it's too late to be added to a waiting list? If so, that's fine. I enjoy your blog and the great posts!

  28. Okay, how great to receive scraps from Australia! I will send you the postage - keep me on your list of receivers.

I must visit Australia some day! I continue to keep ordering from everyone and love how the use of color in quilts is so different from the USA. Just my kind of style.

I just got introduced to the idea of selvage quilts and have just started cutting my selvages to save, would love to win a giveaway like this...

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
