Looking up...

I've been lost in a sea of HTML... tweaking and tidying. Making things consistent. Checking links.

Not allowed (my rule) to while away the hours roaming the blogosphere until I get this *!@#% new website sorted out.

Lately, photos all look something like this... (By the way - these are the new 25mm antique brass flat o-rings.... cute, huh?).

Today there was a whiff of jasmine on the breeze and I realised that Spring was here. I looked up and around... and decided that COLOUR was needed in my mind's eye (and indeed my blog). I picked up my battered happy-snapper and took some shots around the studio.

The replacement Fedora. Still orange - and yes, it's Ikea fabric.

I used a combination of my medium-heavy interfacing and Vilene S320 in the crown, and it worked a treat. S320 is like a fine version of S520 and sadly you can't get it in Australia... yet (but watch this space!). You may be able to find it in Europe - it's well worth a try if you're into making stiff fabric hats or bags.

Fabric and hardware. Contrasts of colours and textures. New ideas brewing.

A small slouch and kids hat set... started before I went to Sydney but not finished in time (...and still no flowers on the hat).
A line of make-up purses... with their nice neat zipper ends!

Then I realised I was 10 minutes late for kinder pick-up time.... oops!

And now it's back to the HTML.... apologies for the lack of bloggy visits and comments while I'm flapping around in web code. See you soon.

  1. The pictures look great! One of them even gave me a sudden, overwhelming urge to go and make something. I am so excited about your new website - I can't wait!

  2. Ah, you've reminded me of the good old days of late nights, up with the bottle of pepsi, almost literally drowning in self-taught HTML. The brain starts to pickle after you've been submerged in that code for too long! I empathise!!! Lurve the replacement Fedora.

  3. It's all good Nikki, I LOVE your colour. I remember hanging out the washing years ago, dreaming in my garden, and I heard the school bell from home ... the same sort of "ooops!"

  4. Nice colours. Mmmm I love the smell of jasmine - it signifies the end of winter and that can only be something to be happy about!

As for the HTML... I don't envy you. Luckily for me I have a computer-geek for a boyfriend so if I ever need to do it, I can get plenty of help.

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
