Itchin' to start stitchin'

A friend is expecting her baby to arrive any minute.

And I have loads of really cute fabric, a few Ikea hand-towels and a bias tape maker.

Gosh, I even have a pattern....
I've been up since dawn - like a kid on xmas morning - having negotiated a WHOLE DAY to sew....
And the man of the house is having a sleep-in! Unfortunately that's part of the deal. I'm marooned here until he wakes up.

If you want to win a bib made from my Fabulous Fifties Bib pattern, head on over to Solomon Sewing and go in the giveaway.
...
Oh, and Nikki's having a giveaway too... You could win this book.

  1. Excellent idea, a new great nephew arrived yesterday, ( I feel a tad old saying that, hubby's side of the family) and these would be perfect. Love the fabric, if only I wasn't on a fabric diet!!

  2. Gorgeous bibs - I used to be a great bib sewer years ago - have a love a good bib when you have chucky babies. Enjoy your day.

  3. I love anything that involves a spotty bias tape trim. Enjoy your day sewing. I think I might just do the exact same thing!

  4. Actually, what I'd really like is to buy a copy of your bib pattern! Is it one you sell or just for your own use?

  5. Thanks for this, it's bucketing down where I am - a good day for sewing. I'm sick to death of the quilt I'm doing; was going to sew up one of your makeup bag patterns, but the bibs are really cheery on a dull day!

  6. Maybe you should have done some early morning baking, the kind with loud banging of saucepans... or some cleaning with a vaccum... I guess that would have been a bit mean.

I hope he didn't sleep in too late and that you had a lovely day with your machine.

  9. Great bibs!
I keep trying to explain to my partner that you need less sleep as you get older... so, since he is two years older than me, I should always have dibs on the sleep in!

  10. Hope your friend is going well with the new one, and wont it look most styling in the bibs. Always handy to have sewing friends I think

  11. These bibs are so cute! I was looking for a good bib pattern last week to make a baby present but didn't find one, so made something else instead. But next time I need bibs, I'm going to try your one. Thanks for sharing the pattern.

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
