It's all in the details...

This is the Carry-All Bag (pattern NEARLY finished!!) in chocolate brown pinwale corduroy and "Flutter-By" by Tula Pink for Moda fabrics. It's a cousin of the MOD bag - longer and with a few alternative features.

It has a zippered closure with a teardrop zipper-pull, straps (pictured here with 50mm oblong rings in antique brass). Of course, it can also be kept simple by using a magnetic catch closure instead of the zip, and looks fab with big o-rings in the straps as well.

There's a front pocket which can do up with a sew-in magnet, a button or our new loop closure (CODE: Loop18 - $3.50 each - not yet on the website... oops).

The same type of pocket can be made to carry a notebook computer on the inside of the bag. It does up with a cord loop and button. There's also a zippered pocket on the other side of the lining....
...and a compartment pocket in the "notebook" section.

This pattern would have been finished ages ago had I not thought of a new variation every time I made a sample. It means the instruction-writing increased rather than decreased the more I worked on it. Well, finally I've said ENOUGH and we're trying to finalise the instructions at last.

Unfortunately the Carry-All pattern won't be ready by the big pattern launch day, but we hope to have it out by Christmas.
The GOOD news is.... The MOD bag pattern (pictured above) should be finished this week.... and will (all going well) be available on Sunday!!! I've had the pattern-testers at it all weekend....

If I've been a bit quiet on the bloggy-commenty front lately, pattern development has been my main reason. Lots of midnight oil has been burned and family and friends have been sorely neglected (and we won't mention the laundry basket...). But the pattern is looking good, and it's looking NEARLY THERE!!! Woo Hoo!

  2. HOW GOOD is that bag looking! Loads of pockets and loads of room for all the stuff (crap) I cart around. The fabrics are fantastic together. Nice work Nikki! Now I'll stop commenting and start sewing...

  3. Great fabric combo! That bag looks nearly big enough for all my crapola too! I'm sorely tempted. Now, off to keep sewing those hat embellishments....

  4. What a great bag. It looks like a fabulous organiser. I love the fact that you have made it in corduroy (there's hope for what I might do with my huge stash of corduroy afterall!).

I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment.
