More bustles and more shirring elastic....More trapese-line top (from my book) variations. This time, a 2-metre piece of voile from Clear It ($5 per metre) was folded top and bottom to make a dress length diamond shape...and then the shirring elastic was put into action! So yes... more poncing about and more swishing of bustly bits. (Anyone would think that bustles didn't go out of fashion over 100 years ago). Oh, and here's a large zipper rose (instructions are also in Le Book). EDITED TO ADD: I just found a weekend where I can schedule a Pattern-Free Top Workshop - if you need a bit of help to get started with this method... or just want a fun sewing day. Details here.
I am SO excited about your book; I have been flicking through it constantly since it arrived yesterday & I can't wait to secure some sewing time to have a play; I especially love the clothes... oh how I love the clothes! You are amaaaaaaaaazing. Yes you are.
Think my comment got lost. It's superb. Beautifully executed and such braveness to keep going to the next step of fascinating perfection. It's very, very beautiful and I want one badly....
I'm so bad at commenting, but I just wanted to say how much I LOVE your cool freestylin' clothes! I particularly loved the dark grey one. They look fabulous on you Nikki.
I LOVE to read your comments and they brighten my day. I can't respond unless your profile has an email address attached, though... And some days I simply don't have time to respond.... but I respond in a telepathic sort of way to each and every comment. xxx Nikki
Where is the drooly emoticon when I need it?
