The mouth of the beast

...isn't so scary when you know it's just the BIGGEST BIAS TAPE MAKER I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

My personal shopper Ms Curlypops found this 5cm (2") number while she was looking for yarn for me.  I haven't had time to play with it yet, but I'm a bit excited at the prospect (sadly, I really am...really quite excited....).

Many thanks for all the yarn-shopping offers.  The yarn crisis has been averted!!  The Olearia may yet be finished!!!

Meanwhile, there are other beasties and demons to face down, patterns to write, books to re-write, life events to accept and a small girl to cuddle as much as I can.

Hi Nikki, I got me one of those to use for bag straps but I don't know if it was just me, bit of a bull at a gate but I couldn't get I nice event fold on it, I wondered if using spray starch on the fabric might help but I haven't got back to it since. Hope demons are slayed.

Spray starch is nearly always a good idea with bias tape. I shall let you know how I get on with mine, and if I discover any tricks to it.

It may surprise you to learn that I too have that beast of a bias tape maker. Had it for a couple of years - never used it yet. Purchased purely for it's impressive beastliness, methinks!

Glad to hear Olearia crisis averted. Had the same issue, only I wasn't even thinking sleeves...

I wondered what on earth that photo was when I first saw it... I'm definitely testing out the bias tape maker tonight!

Looks like a cicada or some such thing. Must be great having a personal shopper ;) Cherrie

I have one of those .... but like Tania, have never used it and most probably bought it for its form not function. Mahoosive, huh?

Have fun with it and enjoy finishing your Olearia too!

You're not weird, I can truly understand your excitement!

Good luck with all your other challenges. :-)

Deeply exciting.

I await the results....

Just bought the proper non-fusible clover 2.5cm. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. The fusible one was rubbish, just scrunched stuff up, the fold out handle ones seem better.

I don't have one that big, but I have a couple that look like that and I can't get them to work properly either. They don't seem to flatten/fold the fabric enough, so I'm another one interested to see your results!
