I'm beginning to wonder about the appropriateness of my blog name.....

There's a lot of yarn action in these-here parts, of late.

It's a kind of meditation.

Every stitch a little mantra.

Sometimes making up designs as I go along (the above three scarves) or learning new stitches and learning to follow patterns (below).

I've used up the gorgeous silk yarn and amazing silk-mohair blend I bought at the quilt show just over a week ago...

...and I'm waiting for the cotton yarn I had sent to my sister in the US to arrive (hopefully with said sister this week).

In the meantime, I'm working my way through all that Spotlight has on offer..... and thinking a lot about these lovely tweedy yarns.

So.... "You obsessively knit and crochet, girl" may be a tad more relevant..... but I'm not sure if it has the same, snappy ring to it. What do you think?

sometimes we need this crocheting rhythm to calm us down I guess =) I crochet like crazy these days, it is always like this when I can't sit in front of my sewing machine... or clay studio =)

Next stop, crochet book!

Kidding, but it all looks wonderful and I'm glad you've found something meditative and creative that's not 'work related'.

Try Bendigo Woollen Mills, for beautiful yarn. I use to buy all my wool from them and now they are online you don't have to have them send you are yarn catalogue to look at. The balls are nice a big and they also have specialty yarn from time to time. I have been avoiding looking at it too closely in case they suck me in again. Knitted squid (daughter) a scarf last night as she begged me when I finished my latest quilt would I please please knit her a scarf with the wool I bought for her to learn to knit.

When I get my knitting machine up and running I'll have you over and introduce you to a whole new gadget...no, no, I insist. Call it returning the favour for the obsessive run of beret making that was my Sunday! :-)

You're right, the rhythm and motion of knitting and crochet can be very therapeutic, and is perfect on these long winter evenings. You're a natural at this, but you seem to be with anything crafty!
