Another new toy

Lots of testing of settings. Quite a lot of seeing just how close I can go with SUPER-MACRO.......

I can pretty-much rest the camera lens on whatever it is that I'm photographing.

The man of the house seems to think I've gone a bit silly with buying gadgetry lately, but there's actually method in my rampant consumerism. It's all about the big worst-kept-secret-in-blogland sewing project, and the new camera is making things SOOOOO much better.
...
If you're one of the eight people in the world not privvy to the worst-kept-secret project, I'll show you what I'm up to soon.... or just ask someone else.

Andy says there is no such thing as too many gadgets ... and I'm happy to believe him. A fantastic camera is a must and that lens looks wonderful.

See, i'm lazy, i'll do massive photo shoots with the super duper Nikon which can shoot the weave in fabrics beautifully focused, but for the blog, i use the little Nikon, pop out the memory stick, straight into the laptop, images done, no nasty NEF files, all done for me. Happy shooting, love Posie

You should go and buy some more fabric whilst you have an excuse....

Sheesh, like that sort of toy needs any sort of explanation! It's only when you buy the back up that you need to start getting creative.

Oh dear, I have serious gadget-envy. I love the super-duper macro close-ups. I wonder if Mr HB would agree to one of these if I said its for the blog?

Boo hooo.... I'm out of the bloggy secret squirrel loop! I don't know about the reasons for the gadgetry, although I do agree with others... who needs a reason for such deliciousness?!

Sigh.

I'm a spring flavoured shade of green! I'm spending too much time lurking on the Canon section of Ebay.

Just how long is it until my birthday.....?

I use my macro setting every day and love it. If you sew and post pics, you really need it.

My man is supposed to be getting one soon. I can see him having to pry it out of my hands fairly regularly. I'm jealous you got one all to yourself! :)

Oooh - macro totally rocks. If you love fabric, then the ideal of shooting it in such detail in so exciting. I'm getting to grips with my compact still - amazing how much I wasn't making use of until I read the manual!

Well, as if he knows what gadgets us creative girls need! Besides, you could have done a lot more damage to the bank balance than a Powershot. Just think of what you saved. Hmmn, there!

That just confirms that I am always the last to know anything!

Macro is my favourite setting. I love using it and use it way too much when it's not really appropriate. Now what I would like is a SUPER macro lense!
