I think it will be a long time before we forget that day.

Just watching the news and especially that program on the ABC tonight... and seeing the destruction and ferocity of the fires and hearing the stories, watching their faces, imagining the terror, the heartbreak and the grief... it is impossible not to cry for them all.

Oh....Nikki, I have seen many pic's this morning on many blogs remembering the fires. I was ok until I saw this one.....My husband was gone for 3 days fighting those fires. This one has realy sent me to water. I never want to see devastation and power like that ever again! xx

This event is something that has been etched into our very souls no matter where in Australia we live. I live in Queensland and could not watch last nights program, I still go to tears. It is not only the people that have been affected, it is all the pets and animals that survived and still bare scars inside and are still so traumatised. But how do they tell us what is wrong? I praise the workers that are helping our furry friends re-establish their bonds and trust with their owners.
