All for a good cause.....

Ummm... do I really need any more books?  Particularly GREAT BIG HEAVY ONES....?

Ever since reading Tania's post about this book, I've felt deeply that I must indeed add this weighty tome to my (ahem) work reference library. The Art of Looking Sideways is all about opening the designer's mind and sharpening the eye to see what isn't always seen... come in sideways and you'll see the truth of the matter... the sort of inspirational thing I MUST have in my life... in my work reference library.

And then I discovered Better World Books.  Wow - my kind of bookshop!  Not only does it give the best prices and the cheapest shipping I've found, but it's a not-for-profit organisation that funds literacy projects around the world and saves surplus books from becoming landfill.  Read all about it here.  Buy a book.

Because it's SUCH a good cause... I also have about 4 more (other book) orders winging their way to me as we speak. Since I bought a new bookshelf for the kiddie books, I have space in my re-built and re-enforced (formerly exploded) shelves for a few more, so it's ok.  Really.

By the way - has anyone else noticed a font size change in Blogger?  My text is MUCH SMALLER on the usual setting, so I've had to make it MUCH BIGGER now (so I can read it!).  The in-betweeny size that I like no longer appears to be an option...?

I've got that book & I adore it. The only problem is that I bought it the day I walked to the bookstore.... I had to lump it home, shifting it from hand to hand, arm to arm for 30 long minutes...........

Another book place I recommend is http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/ - free shipping to Aust and the longest I have ever had to wait for anything is 8 days, most stuff arriving in 5 days.

That books sounds amazing. Yes, you must have it!!
On the blogger font thing, YES, i always liked Ariel Small now i have to use Regular or my eyes pop out. They also are making it more difficult for positioning images, mine either don't want to move if their not downloaded in the order i want them in the post or keep jumping left or right. My blog posts are a bit bipolar at the moment.
It's not you, it's not me, it's blogger!! Love Posie

Go to settings in your blogger dashboard & change the editor, perhaps back to "Old Editor" instead of "Updated Editor". :)

I wish I could justify such a great book purchase, but I don't think even the good cause excuse would fly around here right now!

Your purchase was a wise and justified one!

We have had that book for about 10 years, and the funny part is that I just got it down from the shelf last night. I haven't really looked at it for a couple of years. Ohhhhhh, synchronicity - weird!

It is indeed a fount of all things quirky and inspirational. It sparked a long conversation last night about fonts in our household. My hubby is a bit of a font geek.

Enjoy!

Not that I needed an excuse for buying another book but thanks Nikki for this - now I can feel less guilty about all my book purchasing because it will all be for a good cause!

And I reckon having things delivered is waaaay more exciting than going to a shop don't you?
