Spring Fashion Week

..So why am I swathed in layers of wool and wearing those scruffy black boots?

Because it's Melbourne and the weather is unpredictable and changeable. Today it was just plain cold and rainy. And I like my scruffy old boots (or - more truthfully perhaps - I don't like shopping for new shoes).

I'm loving my new Fibre Red knitted skirt. Super-duper comfy, stylish, textural and the most gorgeous shade of claret (which didn't photograph very well with my dodgey happy-snap camera).

Fibre Red's amazingly creative designer Kim is taking part in fashion week in a really striking and unusual way. If you're in the city (in Melbourne... sorry to international or out-of-town readers!) it's worth taking a wander down to Little Collins St on your lunch break this week.

Incorporating performance art, live music and knitting (!) this unique and original event will unravel in Little Collins St (between Swanston & Elizabeth St). Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th from 12.30pm til 2pm.

Well it's got ME intrigued....!

Amen on the shoe shopping. I have feet that aren't happy a lot of the time, so when I find a pair of shoes that makes them happy, I pretty much just wear those nonstop.

Woo! We just got our freight back too - but unpacking is sooooo far down on our list right now! We have an absolute PILE of printing to do, but as yet no fabric has arrived to print on! EEP! deadlines are looming, so we've resorted to praying to the fabric gods ;)

Loved seeing you in the paper - it was a surprise & totally ace! Think I squealed :D And what a great photo! Rock on, lady!

Haven't yet opened my Fedora pattern, but it sits on my desk and I stroke it lovingly occasionally...

I'm right with you - have been revisiting that red Fibre Red knitted skirt at occasional markets for the last year or so now. A whole year of wasted wearing opportunity...

It's that difficult time of the year now. Supposed to be Spring from today but I am also still wearing my boots and warmer clothing for the mornings and evenings. During the day I fry! Twenty six degrees yesterday! Love the knitted skirt! The colour is gorgeous.

I'll have to go for a lunch time wander and unravelling.

Ping - I have four Fibre Red garments (and a friend has even more that I do) and we both have found them to be incredibly durable. Perhaps your piece was a particularly open knit... which would pull no matter who made it...?

I know where I'll be at lunchtime tomorrow. Caught this post just in time for the last chance.
Nikki, I loved the article in the paper and jumped a bit with glee to see it. (thumbs up)
