More on those little dresses...

These are the patterns I was talking about last week. New Look 6719, 6613 and 6690. All WINNERS.These are a just a few of the dresses I've made with 6690. Last year I made lots of Size 2's, now I'm making the same pattern up in Size 3. I also have loads of little shift dresses, tops and pants made from 6719, but they photographed badly (not that the dress pics are fantastic). We're still getting milage out of the size 2's and growing into the new size 3's.

The 6613 is a new pattern for me this year, and I just LOVE it! It takes a bit more fabric than the others, but is super-quick to sew and looks adorable on.
Unfortunately I have the most reluctant (read: contrary, obstinate, uncooperative....) model in the world, who prefers to wear boys pyjama shorts, a hot pink skivvy (on a warm day) and gumboots while she makes mud pies. At least she likes the hat.

Beautiful dresses you made. So colourful and happy...

I couldn't help smiling at your little model...I just adore the fact that she rather wanted to make mud pies in gumboots ;0)

All gorgeous!! Mine won't take off her nightie so gumboots and clothes are a big improvement.

Hi Nikki, I still remember the day I made my first pair of little boy pants for my first born and he screamed and cried that he didn't like them and wouldn't wear them. Heartbroken I rang my Mum to apologies for doing the same thing to her when I was five over a lovely pair of canary yellow bell bottom overalls she had lovingly made. Love the dresses by the way! :)Kylie

Oh my, just wait. My youngest, who used to love lacy socks and frilly dresses, ended her high school career by wearing sweat pants, and men's bedroom slippers to school (something I've mentioned a couple of times on my blog). But she loves the curtains I made for her first apartment so I guess that counts for something!

What wonderful patterns, sigh, now if only my little girl was small again so I could make her a bunch!
Love the last picture, what a cutie, and with a style all her very own, good for her!

I'm so relieved to read that I'm not the only one who sews gorgeous (not run of the mill, off the rack) clothing for her daughter - only to have her turn up her nose and prefer the same "play clothes" (what ever they may be - boys PJs? that works!). In my case my 6 year old loves to wear a pair of knit pants I made her when she was 2. They still fit in the waist and come down to her knees now, but that's her choice!
